We live in a great time in the spirits world. Our options are increasing and new brands are quickly finding their way to market. That’s the good news, especially for developing countries that export some of these beautiful liquors.
However, as we become more conscious about what is going into our bodies, it behooves us to be more conscious of how some of these spirits are being made, and what the socioeconomic impact they have in their countries of origin.
Join an experienced panel which aims to share some introspection into some of the distilling practices in Latin American countries, while learning through tasting some of the categories in question. Jonathon Smolensky of Sovereign Canada will moderate a Q&A focused discussion with Eduardo and Julio Mestre of Siete Misterios Mezcal, Donnie Wheeler of Havana Club, Danielle Yoon of Absolut Vodka, and Robin Wynne of Miss Thing’s.
